I have been challenged by my baptism this last week. It has been a hard, dark week. Taunted by nightmares, normal blows of life, and hardship. God is walking me through, but he doesnt force me to do anything, he gives me the free will to make my own choices.
In my quiet time God reminded me the moment of Sam asking me in the baptism pool, “Why are you getting baptized tonight?”
I responded with “Because I want to serve the Lord my whole life, no matter what happens”. No matter what happens, I made the decision.
So now on my storm front, I am up against decisions, and I have to decide to follow or fall.
I can either fall because I gave up, or I can fall fighting for the name of Jesus. When I choose to follow him, no matter how hard it hurts, I believe He will lift me back up. “The only temptation that has come to you is that which everyone has. But you can trust God, who will not permit you to be tempted more than you can stand. But when you are tempted, he will also give you a way to escape so that you will be able to stand it.” (1 Cor 10:13 MSG).
Friend. Life is full of storms. They hurt – this I know. The waves will knock you down, but they only last a moment. “So here’s what I want you to do, God helping you: Take your everyday, ordinary life—your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life—and place it before God as an offering. Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for him. Don’t become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking. Instead, fix your attention on God. You’ll be changed from the inside out. Readily recognize what he wants from you, and quickly respond to it. Unlike the culture around you, always dragging you down to its level of immaturity, God brings the best out of you, develops well-formed maturity in you.” (Rom 12:1-2 MSG).
This is a hard season but I am holding onto the truth, leaning into the Spirit, and going to immerse myself in the word. I will overcome & because my words have power I will continue to speak this over my life. Thank you for your prayers!
